Organization Profile

Name: Thai Educational Transformation Initiative (TETI)

Vision:
To create a student-centered education system in Thailand that nurtures critical thinking, collaboration, and lifelong learning, inspired by Vygotsky’s sociocultural theory.

Mission:
TETI is committed to transforming Thai education by integrating Vygotsky’s approach into classroom practices, teacher training programs, and education policy. The organization works to bridge the gap between educational theory and practice, ensuring that Thai students receive learning experiences that are interactive, culturally relevant, and developmentally appropriate.

Core Objectives:

  • Teacher Development: Provide professional training for Thai teachers on scaffolding, guided participation, and collaborative learning strategies.
  • Curriculum Innovation: Support schools in redesigning curricula that reflect the principles of the Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD) and encourage peer interaction.
  • Research and Advocacy: Conduct research on the impact of Vygotsky-inspired methods in Thai classrooms and advocate for evidence-based policy reforms.
  • Community Engagement: Collaborate with parents, local communities, and educational leaders to foster a holistic learning environment aligned with Thai culture.

Key Activities:

  • National symposiums and workshops on Vygotsky’s approach.
  • Pilot programs in selected schools to model best practices.
  • Publications and resources in Thai language to make Vygotsky’s theories accessible.
  • Partnership with universities for ongoing teacher education.

Expected Impact:
Through its initiatives, TETI seeks to improve student engagement, raise academic performance, and equip the next generation of Thai learners with skills for innovation and collaboration in the global society.
